DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine work involving delivery of food for school lunch programs. Duties also include assisting with loading and unloading, and assisting with organized storage of food and supplies, as well as maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment according to prescribed procedures. Work is performed under direct supervision of higher-level school district staff. Performs related work as required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of the safe operation of light motor vehicles; knowledge of proper sanitary methods of food service; knowledge of proper sanitary cleaning methods, cleaning supplies and appliances in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen utensils and appliances; ability to drive safely and skillfully; ability to follow simple oral and written instructions; ability to work well with others; tact and courtesy.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a current appropriate valid New York State Motor Vehicle Operator's license at time of appointment.
