DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine work checking for proper dump permits and assisting in maintaining a dump in an orderly and sanitary condition. Work is performed in accordance with general instructions outlined by a supervisor. Performs related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)
Checks all vehicles of users entering the dump for valid and appropriate permits;
Turns away vehicles of users without the appropriate permit;
Directs users of the dump to location for unloading rubbish;
Polices area for proper use of dump;
Makes minor repairs of tools and equipment;
Assists in fighting dump fires;
May collect dumping fees;
Performs a variety of related activities as required.
