Scattered Severe Thunderstorm and Flash Flood Threat this Afternoon into Evening July 25th 2023

An approaching disturbance will bring potential for scattered severe thunderstorms and scattered areas of flash flooding this afternoon into evening.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire area until 8pm
Severe Thunderstorm Threats -The main threats will be for damaging wind gusts (58 to 69 mph) and large hail (1 to 1 1/2").
Flash Flood threat - Rainfall rates of 1-2"/hr. Isolated to scattered areas of flash flooding are possible where multiple thunderstorms move over an area.
Peak Hazard Timing -
Between now and 6pm for NYC and points N&W
Between 3pm to 8pm for southern CT and Long Island.
