JOB OVERVIEW: The Family Resource Specialist (FRS) is responsible for completing the FROG with parents (prenatally and/or immediately after the birth of their child) to determine eligibility for home visitation services and to connect the family with needed resources and referrals. The FRS uses reflective practice techniques to engage parents and explain the home visiting services to interested parents. The FRS must have good writing skills to complete the FROG. If the family does not enter the program, the FRS will make referrals to the appropriate community-based agencies, depending on the family's needs. The FRS is also responsible for conducting community outreach and maintaining referral relationships with referral sources in the community. The FRS will provide ongoing community outreach to promote the program daily. Generally, 9am-5pm weekdays. Position requires flexibility and occasionally some evening and/or weekend hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Understanding and supporting the agency's mission & treatment philosophy. Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural background of children, families, and co-workers. Participates in virtual and in person trainings and meetings to obtain and discuss information related to program/agency. Conduct outreach within the target communities, at local providers offices, organizations, and door to door to enroll families and meet target goal. Conducts FROG, screenings, and enrollments in the target areas for Westchester County. Assigns families to the appropriate FSS to commence visiting services. Offers referrals and information according to the needs of families. Provides information on the HF home visiting program to expectant families. Ensures flyers and information distributed to families and providers are up to date. Meets weekly with assigned supervisor to address concerns and explore ways to best support FRS in outreach efforts within the community in addition to discussing tasks assigned. Safely manages all aspects of job responsibilities and maintains a safe, hazard free workspace. Performs duties of a mandated reporter by reporting any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to Supervisor and SCR. Completes all paperwork and case record forms in a clear, accurate and timely fashion as per HFNY standards to ensure client information stays update. Orchestrating and participating in outreach events in the community. Ability to be empathetic and work with families with diverse cultural, economic backgrounds. Assists, when appropriate in the orientation of new staff.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Key qualifications to include High School Diploma or GED, Two years direct work experience with children and families in a community setting. Strong oral and written communication skills and knowledge of basic computer systems. Knowledge of Yonkers/ Mt. Vernon and county resources valued. Facility in written and spoken English and Spanish preferred. Ability to adhere to our organization's core values, policies, and procedures. Punctual and regular attendance as scheduled. Safe and successful performance of job tasks. Physical/Travel Requirements Valid NYS Driver's License. Ability to travel to community-based agency offices, clinics, and organizations within assigned target area to conduct outreach. The FRS must be able to drive to external locations and work flexible hours as required to meet program needs with some evenings and/or weekends as identified.
