Robert J. Bondi

The Putnam County Executive’s Office is led by County Executive Robert J. Bondi. Mr. Bondi began his public service in 1979 when he was elected to his first term as a County Legislator. He served six terms in the Legislature, serving as that body’s first Chairman, and then was elected to the position of County Executive in November 1990.  Mr. Bondi is presently serving his fifth term as County Executive. Mr. Bondi has a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance and Economics from New York University and completed his Masters of Business Administration as well as his Bachelor’s degree at Iona College. Mr. Bondi’s main function in the office is to serve as Putnam County’s Chief Budget Officer which entails formulating and administering the $200 million dollar budget for the County. Mr. Bondi has received numerous awards and recognitions over his 31 years of public service and he continues to serve as a member of the Mahopac Fire Department.
