Walking the Way to Work Productivity

08 August 2023

The benefits of physical activity on general health are widely accepted. Now more evidence shows that it can also positively impact health—and job performance. This is according to a study reported in the Harvard Business Review last May.

So, it should come as good news to hear that Putnam County law enforcement, along with other public employees, stepped up their exercise routines earlier this summer to improve their fitness and stamina. Two dozen employees in the “Walk for Wellness” challenge were correction officers and they were joined by thirty other county employees who tracked their steps and submitted them to the health department. Of those who logged the most steps were 14 corrections officers, who often don’t get to participate in lunchtime exercise or learning events because of their demanding schedules. Kudos to all….Keep up the good work!
